Although it was unthinkable back in early March, somehow the world is still gripped by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Few people thought it would last this long during those early days of the outbreak, yet here we are. While it's absolutely true that some countries like New Zealand are doing quite well in containing the virus, others haven't been as successful - to the point where cases are actually going back up again in a lot of countries like the United States.
Because of that, safety is obviously a topic on a lot of people's minds and people are searching for something, anything, to aid in their quest to protect themselves from the virus. Many people are stocking up on disinfectants in particular, which is a big part of the reason why the EPA List N is so important.
What is the EPA List N?
The Environmental Protection Agency created List N to act as a list of all EPA-registered disinfectant products that have qualified use against SARS-CoV-2, which is the official name of the novel Coronavirus that causes COVID-19. In other words, it's designed to act as a resource to help people select more effective disinfectants - regardless of the type of environment they're trying to decontaminate.
The list itself was based on data that was provided by product manufacturers and, interestingly, was in progress even in advance of the outbreak. It actually shows the efficiency of products against viruses that are harder to kill than SARS-CoV-2 so if it works for those, it will work for COVID-19 as well. At Pro Solutions Direct, we pride ourselves on offering products like those on EPA List N to customers on a regular basis - and Shockwave RTU and Benefect Decon 30 are two top examples.
Shockwave RTU is a multipurpose disinfectant and cleaner that has been registered with the EPA for use against COVID-19. It's ready to use, meaning that there is absolutely no mixing required and the contact time is as little as 10 minutes in most situations. In addition to being used as a disinfectant and cleaner it can also be used as a deodorizer, as carpet treatment, as a laundry additive and for water damage restoration. It's even great for the decontamination of HIV-1 and HBV on any surfaces you're working with that may have previously been soiled with blood or other bodily fluids.
Benefect Decon 30 is a botanical disinfectant that is also ready to use. It, too, has been registered with the EPA as a disinfectant, cleaner, bactericide, virucide and fungicide. Because the active ingredient is Thymol, which is an extract from essential oils of the thyme plant, there are no human health warnings or other precautionary statements to speak of. This means that you just need to apply it to the surface in question - you don't have to wipe or rinse it off when you're done and you don't even have to think about using Personal Protective Equipment.
If you'd like to find out more information about the benefits of staying up to date with EPA's List N, or if you just have any additional questions that you'd like to go over with someone in a bit more detail, please don't delay - contact Pro Solutions Direct today.
