Usage Instructions

PRECAUTION: Do not freeze. Wear protective clothing and eyewear during application of this product. Do not transport on passenger seats or inside passenger compartment of any vehicle. Store product in cargo area of vehicle, and secure with protective cloths to prevent accidental spill damage. Do not store at temperature above 100  °F (37  °C). Do not use in drinking water or food systems.

READ AND FOLLOW ALL DIRECTIONS: Surfaces must be clean, dry and sound. Contaminants such as dirt, dust, grease, wax, oil, soap film, rust, mold, mildew, bond breakers and curing compounds must be removed before application. Loose, chipping and peeling of previous coating must be removed before application. Repair holes and cracks with an appropriate patching material. Clean surfaces with bleach solution [one (1) part bleach to four (4) parts water] and a stiff bristle brush. If mildew is present, treat with a mildew remover. Rinse with clean water and let dry one (1) to two (2) days before application. Do not apply to damp surfaces or when surface temperature is below 50 °F (10 °C) or above 100 °F (37 °C). Do not apply if rain is prevalent. Do not thin.

SLIPPERY WHEN WET: If the surface to be coated is exposed to water from rain, sprinklers, pools or by other means or if the surface is an inclined plane, such as a ramp or if concrete steps are being coated, Dyco recommends mixing SKID GARD #45 at 0.2lbs per gallon. If SKID GARD #45 is not available, see your paint specialist for a recommendation of a suitable aggregate to be used at 0.2lbs per gallon. Stir vigorously to suspend SKID GARD #45 in the container before application.

PREPARING NEW AND PREVIOUSLY COATED SURFACES: Allow new exterior concrete to cure a minimum of 30 days and a minimum of 45 days for new interior concrete before application. Pressure cleaning is recommended if possible. Acid etching is not required. For previously coated surfaces, use DYCO TUFF GRIP as a bonding primer.

TINTING: Tint appropriate tint bases with approved colorants. Factory-tinted colors cannot be re-tinted unless indicated on label as tintable. When selecting colors, dark colors are better for high traffic areas and light colors are preferable for foot traffic areas such as patios, pool decks and walkways since light colors are cooler.

APPLICATION: Apply first coat DYCO #9040 TUFF GRIP Bonding Primer. Allow eight (8) hours before applying the EPOXY-TITE. EPOXY-TITE is a two (2) coat process. Apply first coat evenly with a medium nap roller, brush or airless sprayer. Do not leave puddles or roller marks. Coverage is 175-225 sq. ft./gal. depending on surface porosity and application method. Allow four (4) hours before applying the second coat. For color uniformity of the finish coat, combine and stir all containers together into one container. For a non-skid surface add DYCO SKID GARD Skid Resistant Texture Additive.

DRY TIME: Dries to touch in four (4) hours @ 77  °F (25 °C) and 50% Relative Humidity Ready for recoat in four (4) hours. Ready for foot traffic in three (3) hours and vehicle traffic in 72 hours. Low temperature, high humidity, thick films or poor ventilation will increase these dry times.
